BOIL WATER ADVISORY

TO THE RESIDENTS OF LAMAR, SC

(February 2, 2026)

The Lamar Public Works Department advises the residents of Reynolds, Lane, Pettigrew, Porter, and Main in the Town of Lamar, located in Darlington County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one (l) full minute prior to drinking and cooking. As a precaution, we would advise all citizens who purchase water from the Town of Lamar to adhere to that advisory.

A major line break in The Town of Lamar water system has resulted in a loss of pressure and service to many of the customers of the system. There has been no confirmed contamination of the system. However, because of the loss of pressure, customers are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one (l) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until otherwise notified by the Town of Lamar. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The Lamar Public Works Department is presently working to correct the problem.

If you should have any questions concerning this Advisory, you may call:

Inez B. Lee [Mayor] (843) 230-7137
